Receiving garbage in excel when rendered via Subscription

Hi,
I set up a standard subscription and am rendering the report to excel.
After recieving the email, I open the excel report and it displays a bunch of
garbage. Is there a known issue or a patch out for this?Did you install the SQL 2000 Reporting Services SP1?

assume this is the same as Excel exporting garbage? One other item, when we
include the link in the email, the link itself is placed on two lines. The
top line is a hyperlink and the bottom isn't. Meaning, you can't click on it.
We have to place the top line in and then go back and copy the bottom line
and paste it after the first. Can this be fixed?

control what users select when they create a subscription.
I want to make sure that people were aware of a third-party product,
Proposion Report Adapter for Microsoft Reporting Services and Lotus
Notes/Domino, that fixes this problem and a lot more. It not only
allows you to deliver reports via NATIVE NOTES MAIL, it also allows you
to use Notes/Domino as data sources for reports and/or allows you to

Receiving a Communication Link Failure ODBC

Hi All,
I have a client using SQL Server 7.0 Sp3, and they have
clients connecting to it via ODBC (32) bit driver, some of
them are receiving a error message of communication Link
failure. They have MDAC 2.7.1 installed, they tried using
TCP/IP, and Name pipes, the error keeps happening.
If you have any ideas it would greatly be appreciated.

policy (OURDOMAIN\Developers) to access the SQL Server. He can access
other Sql Servers, and every other member of the group can access all
boxes. So its a case of a specific users cannot access a specific
box. Below is the error message he is getting:

3152 is the latest version you can download if you want to move past SP2.

State - there will be a line similar to:

receive files from remote site only if file does not exist in local directory

I need to only receive files via ftp when the file does not exist on my local machine. FIles are being added to the remote location on a weekly basis and they are being downloaded locally. I do not want to download all the files each time. Instead, just download what was not already downloaded. Is there a way to do this? I want to do this using SSIS / ftp task.

One way to accomplish this is to use the Execute Process task to run ftp.exe to get a list of the files on the server, then compare that list to your local directory. You could compare the file lists through a script task. Then FTP each file that you need to pull down.|||Thanks very much. I will try that.

Rebuilding Indexes While logshipping

We implemented logshipping on one of our database and the log is shipped via
wan to different destination.it works great but on weekends we do rebuild
indexes for that databases which generates huge log and it takes forever to
copy that log at least two days.is there a work around for it.
Thanks,We had the same problem, so we stopped rebuilding index's until a solution
is found. It was more important to have disaster recovery than index's that
are not defragged.

>|||One thing you should look at is only rebuild indexes that actually need it.
This KB should be helpful and there is a sample script in BooksOnLine under
DBCC SHOWCONTIG that will only reindex the indexes that are fragmented
beyond a certain point. This should cut down the amount that is being
logged dramatically.

How about:
1. disable Log Shipping
2. Perform Index Maintenance
3. ReSeed your Standby DB
4. Start logshipping back up
This is a pain, but MUCH better than NOT doing index maintenance...
